  1. Wash and Soak Rice and Dal for half an hour.
  2. Take a cooker. Put this rice and Dal along with water. Water should be 1:4 ratio. Give 4 5 whistles. After the cooker is cool down mash it with a wooden whisk. Dont use electric blender as it will not taste good. Add water if required as we need Khichdi consistency. Simmer the gas.
  3. By that time fry potatoes and kerelas separately.
  4. Now take same kadhai after reducing oil or another pan with one teaspoon of oil. Add hing and green chillies. Now put potatoes and kerelas.
  5. Add all masalas to it. Mix well. Add two three drops of water if u feel it's very dry and cover it for 2- 3 mins.
  6. Now for Khichdi.. take vagara. Add ghee. Now when it is hot add mustard seeds. When it crackles add to Khichdi. Khichdi is done and ready to serve hot with Dahi and papad.
  7. Now aloo and kerelas are also ready garnish with coriander leaves. And serve hot.
